Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 27, 2026
1. Introduction
ABJM Tech Corporation ("we," "our," or "us") operates ModaLearn, a multi-modal learning platform that transforms educational content based on individual learning preferences. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our website, Chrome extension, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
2. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials through our OAuth provider.
Learning Preference Data: When you take our assessment quiz, we collect your responses to determine your learning preference profile (visual, auditory, reading/writing, kinesthetic). This data is used solely to personalize your content experience.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, content transformed, and extension activity. This helps us improve the Service.
Page Content (Chrome Extension): When you use the ModaLearn Chrome extension, the extension reads the text content of webpages you choose to transform. This content is processed through our AI systems to generate adapted versions and is not stored permanently.
Device Information: We collect basic device and browser information (browser type, operating system, screen resolution) to optimize the Service for your device.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and personalize the ModaLearn Service based on your learning preferences
- Transform webpage content in real-time through the Chrome extension
- Improve and develop new features for the Service
- Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the educational experience
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service Providers: Third-party providers that help us operate the Service (hosting, analytics, AI processing), bound by confidentiality agreements
- Educational Institutions: If your account is managed by a school or district, aggregated usage data may be shared with administrators
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, or legal process
5. Student Privacy (FERPA & COPPA)
We are committed to protecting student privacy. ModaLearn is designed to comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental or school consent
- Student learning preference data is treated as an educational record and is protected accordingly
- We do not use student data for advertising or marketing purposes
- Schools and parents may request access to or deletion of student data at any time
6. Chrome Extension Data
The ModaLearn Chrome extension only accesses webpage content when you explicitly activate it (by clicking the extension icon or using a keyboard shortcut). Content is sent to our servers for AI-powered transformation and is not stored after the transformation is delivered. The extension does not track your browsing history, collect data from pages you do not choose to transform, or access any data outside of the active tab.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), secure authentication, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account information and learning preference profile for as long as your account is active. Usage data is retained in aggregated form for analytics purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at [email protected].
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
